FX's The Strain Renewed for another Season

This is the best TV hit this fall and exciting news for us fans as The Strain returns in 2015 for a second season.

EO of FX Networks, John Landgraf, has announced that their hit horror drama will keep the scares coming for a 13-episode second season.

Created by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, and based on their novel trilogy, The Strain follows an unleashed virus with vampire-like effects as it spreads throughout the population and the efforts to contain it.

So far the series has proven to be a massive success for FX, averaging about 11 million viewers weekly. Landgraf praised the show’s achievements, stating, “We’ve never had any doubts about The Strain. Working with Guillermo del Toro, Carlton Cuse, and the brilliant cast led by Corey Stoll has been everything we had hoped it would be and more. It is thrilling when you have a show that is a creative and commercial hit, which is a rare accomplishment in this increasingly crowded marketplace.”

The Strain is currently about halfway through its first season and airs Sundays at 10pm on FX.
